Subject Matter Expert, or not?

Recap - Rejected twice in tech lead interviews, I started questioning if people took me seriously. Maybe a beard could help me look less like a kid and more like a team leader/tech lead.

I’m now a team leader trainee, my habit of working overtime continues to be the same. Is this a coincidence, bad luck or a sign of something deeper - could I be a workaholic in the making? Key Question - Why am I enjoying this?

My friends at work who I share my flat with on the other hand are busy figuring ways to slack off at work and newer ways to spend money (I think most of it was to impress women and somehow get lucky). Me on the other hand was trying to figure out ways to shake off the trainee part from the TL trainee. Pretty weird for a 23 year old.

Perhaps it wasn’t so much about being a workaholic as it was about a sense of purpose I had unknowingly attached to work.
