Grew up in Mumbai. Landed in Bengaluru in 2013 for final year ""project"" , a bus day pass, and a clean shirt in my backpack. Walked into a BPO interview and accidentally started a career.
That's really how it happened. No grand plan. No roadmap. Just a Facebook post about a walk-in drive and a 51% chance of succeeding. That bet has compounded pretty well.
I'm a 0 to 1 specialist. The person you call when there's no team, no process, and no one really sure what needs to happen next. I've built operations functions from scratch — repeatedly, across some of India's most well-known fintech companies.
Started at ZestMoney in consumer fintech and lending ops. Moved to Razorpay. Now at PhonePe, working across Fintech, Business, Risk, and Tech & Non-Tech Operations. 12 years in. Still find the 0 to 1 phase the most interesting part of the job.
I've been gaming for 20+ years. Started before broadband was a thing. Still going. I genuinely believe it's made me better at strategy, reading people, and managing chaos — which as it turns out, is basically what ops is anyway.
Some posts here are about work — management, operations, careers. Some are about life — the chaos of figuring things out in your 20s and 30s, told from the middle of it. All of it is honest, occasionally self-deprecating, and never corporate-speak.
Two sections: Work Gyaan (everything I've learned about work, ops, management, and careers — presented as lessons, not lectures) and Life Stories (the actual story of how I got here, told chapter by chapter from 2013 onwards).
If you're in ops, thinking about ops, or managing people and want a perspective from someone who's been in the trenches — you'll find something useful here.
